Sonya Volcko: I understand your problem, but it is still not a correct view. Evolution is filled with chance. When you play poker and get a full house, that isn't purposeful, "designed" to end that way, unless you are playing draw poker and tossed some cards at your choice. Perhaps there is a "player" that does choose to throw away some "cards" along the way, directing evolution, but there is no reason to think that or that supports that idea. It really is just the luck of the draw, is all that evolution is. A pattern results, but it is not a planned pattern. The design is not designed (said that way to partly point out the error of another answer); it is not intentionally drawn the way it ends up. Your mistake in view is sort of like the person that asks "what is the purpose of" something. (What is the purpose of the sun, what is the purpose of water, what is the purpose of the liver). There is no "purpose"; things fill roles in a system but are not there by the expresse! d effort of someone or something. It just is. The liver does something, but it does not serve a purpose, it performs a function....Show more
Lawanna Livsey: Not sure what you mean by design....Survival of the fittest. What off spring fitted the environment best, survived to reproduce in their own image.
Coleman Senn: Yes, but it's not the spell that "works," it's the intent and force of will of the person casting it.
Michel Mccaulley: If you believe in evolution, then the things you see today aren't really designs, they're just what the results of evolution look like.
Foster Padgette: No. Evolution is the process by which things change. Design is the metaphor by which our experience interprets it without analysis.
Rodrigo Pezley: Shhhh.... make sure no one hears us... "spells are prayers by a different name." If you understand how prayer works, you will understand how 'spells' work. One should always ask permission, be kind, harm none and gi! ve the glory to where it is due. For me that is God.
Wel! don Totaro: Depends some spells are to give the caster confidence to do certain things in life. So if just doing the spell causes the individual to be more self confident, then in a weird way it did work. This is kind of why love spells are used so much. Even if the spell is fake, it gave the individual confidence to at least try to make a move on that special someone.
Dawn Saha: The fact that I have never met one does not mean that none exist, but it does indicate that if they do exist thay are few and far between.
Randolph Lozoya: Evolution can cause the appearance of design where there is none. Eyespots are a good example. Most birds will instinctively avoid things that look like the heads of, for example, snakes and owls. Because snakes and owls will sometimes kill them. There has been selective pressure for a very long time for birds to avoid vaguely snake-shaped or owl-shaped things that look like they might be eyes, the easiest marker to show that yo! u're looking at the business end of a snake or owl.Caterpillars and butterflies can have random patterns. Some of those patterns look a bit like eyes. If a caterpillar has spots that look enough like a snake's eyes to scare off an insectivorous bird, that caterpillar won't get eaten, and will live to pass on its genes, and thus its spots, to offspring. Same for a butterfly that has eyespots that look a little like an owl. For the first few generations, the resemblance will be slight, and the response will also be slight--only a few birds will be fooled, and thus scared away. But, in subsequent generations, those offspring with spots that look less like eyes will be more likely to be eaten, and those that look more like eyes will be less likely to be eaten. Eventually, you will have eyespots that very closely resemble the eyes of a real snake, or a real owl--in fact, some caterpillars look very like snakes, from the right angle, and I believe there is at least one butt! erfly or moth that rather resembles an owl's face when it spreads its w! ings. But, any selective pressure that makes some regular pattern useful (that is, more likely to lead to survival) will tend to eventually produce that pattern, if it's biologically feasible....Show more
Salvador Prchlik:
Anibal Katayama: Yes, but I don't like the term "spells."
Patrick Bitsui: No. People design things. Evolution is a process, not a person. In the theory of evolution by natural selection, cumulative, heritable variations combined with selection pressure produce the illusion of design.
Arnette Dominici: nobody ive known has ever done that..
Brittney Inabnit: No, Evolution doesn't actively design things. Designs come about as a result of Natural Selection favoring mutations conducive to survival while eliminating ones that are counter-beneficial. Thus, the end product is an organism or animal that appears to have been designed.
Chadwick Schmelz: Atheist how did nothing create everything?
Raye Tredennick: No, this ques! tion is correctly pointed at most atheists. For those that believe in the creation story, we believe God created everything. Let's just look at it logically. God is a noun. A noun is a person, place or thing (put basically). Therefore, we conclude God is something. Therefore, this person is asking if God didn't create everything, what did? For whoever it was that referenced the Big Bang theory (states universe began as a super hot and massive "explosive point" and then expanded) what created the "explosive point"? The materials necessary for the Big Bang to be formulated at all, where did that come from?If you're going to look at it in that sense it's not so hard a question. You have 2 options:Nothing created everything. Which is impossible. Very basic logical deduction will tell you nothing will create nothing. ORSomething created everything. Which is difficult to believe but far more logical. So, I believe this person (correct me if I'm wrong) is asking, which is it?...Sh! ow more
Manual Burtis: Spells are prayers, so like prayers in oth! er religions, some come to be and some do not.
Lou Rought: The nazis and the KKK are christians but I'm not positive they are presbyterians, I know Hitler worked with the papacy
Rayford Latz: Yes. They say so. Although I do not believe in it, but have experienced things turning good or bad by somebody doing a spell. Will give you 2 examples and you can judge: 1. We had a tenant who did a lot of spell thing. She had ill intentions of doing something so my mother would die and she (tenant) could claim the house (my father was a cousin bro of this tenant). We heard that she used to go to the cemetry and pray on a skull and had heard about many such incidents where she wanted to go for those kind of super-natural powers helping her. On the other hand, my mother had very strong faith in God and each day she would do her prayers unshakenly. This was her daily routine to do prayers and she had too much faith in God and knew he is her saviour in all ups-downs of life, e! tc. Result: The tenant got cancer and died. Moral: God is saviour. No matter how strong the spells are.2. A friend of my had a (chines) boss who claimed that she had some Feng Shui powers by which she can hypnotize the client to accept whatever she wanted to sell to him and at whichever price she wants. Surprisingly, whatever she wanted to sell, she did and she is now a owner of multi-billionare asset/business. She did this trick on MANY of her clients/suppliers/colleagues/staff and even her husband. She is known to be quite successful. But at the back of it, everybody hates her. Currently, she is stuck in some custom-related scandal and it is expected that if her manipulations are proved, she may be behind the bars at any time. So, I do believe in spells. But I also belive that God has the power to pull us out of worst spells....Show more
Adan Alipio: There is no design, just a natural progression of events that results in patterns.
Thurman Buege: Spells and Wit! ch Craft are just words and rituals - - the real power is in the mind o! f the person the spell is being cast on. Dude or duddette, it's like if you believe something good is going to happen to you today you make it happen. The reverse is also true.
Clinton Migliori: yup it designs your future species to adapt to its surroundings.
King Bringle:
Maryland Gareau: how are designs made?
Alexandria Popik: I've always been partial to fireballs. As you level up you get an extra d12 of damage and that seems to really help out. Plus the area of effect is handy too.
Chris Wilczewski: Of course yes there is, try this : " I spell all of the things that bothered me on my goodness should be erased from the world forever ".If you dare to try it..??
Walter Scordino: Yes and noNo= because it is a process not an intelligence that produces the outcomeYes = because that process changes the living thing to fit into its environment.
Seema Hosfeld: There may be some in the KKK.
Everette Rovinsky: Yes! Correct Spellin! gs!
Russell Mckinzie: Scientists did not see a fish evolving into a frog in their laboratoriesTherefore fish never evolved into anything and the rest of the evolution did not happen because fish are supposed to be the ancestors of land creatures in Darwin's hypothesis
Pearlie Medora: I am sure there are a few just like there are a few Tea Party members that might be racist. Every human organization has flaws. I don't believe many churches out there are holocaust deniers just as I don't believe almost any Tea Party members are racist. There is always that rare bad apple.
