Luke Creitz: The aircraft carriers in the US are built by Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Co. in Virginia. The company is owned by the Northrop Grumman Corp. US now only builds nuclear powered aircraft carriers and Newport News is the only shipyard in the US qualified to build or refuel then.
Kris Otuafi: They take a big chunk of steel and grind away anything that doesn't look like an aircraft carrier.
Lou Ravelo: In sections, Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock.
Len Dalba: They are built in a shipyard, usually to the lowest bidder. Northrup Grumman is a major builder. Pay is commensurate with experience and training.
