Margy Sandquist: Here's link to Georgia's preschool licensing web site. Should give you all you are asking and more:http://www.daycare.com/georgia/ It looks to me like you are highly qualified as far as your credentials go, but you shouldn't let that stop you from building on your own education! Go on for your bachelors once you get a job there and feel comfortable enough at it to go to school part time on the side. If you google "preschools new city georgia" you will get a list of programs near where you are moving to and you can begin investigating employment opportunities ahead of time....Show more
William Vickerman: Usually u need 24 units in ECE, for a teacher and 12 units for a assistant to just be aapproved you renew your permit for children center every 5 years. call the liscensing department for preschools and they can tell you what you need and where you can apply for the clearance or permit. You may be able to start work in Georgia, with a emergency! permit, but you will need one for the state you are working in. the ratios are done by liscensing and remember if you go over ratio you are out of compliance, many will work with two many children then you have an accident if goes aganist you. You need to let someone you are out of compliance and they can be fined, in head start program the ratio is 1-8 for 3.5-5 years old.Try to get on at a unified school district children center, the other school may have no benefits or dental or medical 401k etc. You need benefits especially when you get older....Show more
