Lindsey Zanardi: Education is very important for a nation's future. The standard of that education and how competitive it is in comparison to the rest of the world. Starting with elementary, secondary, post-secondary educationThe OECD tests the reading, math, science (PISA) tests. The language of instruction and climate does play a factor and these are visible. An unknown is how they administer the tests. Are they keepin! g the dumb ones home on this day rigging the test. In Canada this is tested in grade 3, 6, 9. Grade 9 being PISA, we were selected at random. It is probably the same for the States. In Canada we now have regional tests for final exams, one day will become national. Education does remain a provincial/ territorial affair, but we have national standards. United States comes out near the bottom each time, below the average. This should be a major concern. Indicating some major socio-economic issues. This issues must be looked at from a national level. But you questions seem to be from a liberitian prespective. Humans are naturally good but easily corrupted. We are self-serving pleasure seekers who take care of our own first.
