How do I make my car faster?

Rebeca Mckin: It's very hard to get much power out of a small naturally aspirated engine like that. Yeah you can maybe get 5HP out of an intake, high flow exhaust, camshafts, etc. but you would be hard pressed to tell the different between 150hp and 160hp. It's a small difference. The only way to get any sort of noticeable increase in power is to go forced induction and that costs thousands of dollars.

Jorge Gerrero: Any Japanese or German or Korean automobile with 270HP-330HP can achieve as much as 155mph. Today, so much V6 engines in Japanese autos make that energy and achieve that ruled restrained pace. 155mph. Any Porsche can readily achieve 160mph. Even the slowest and least expensive, the Porsche Boxster. For American autos, you wish to have 400HP autos to arrive a hundred and fifty mph readily. They want extra energy seeing that they're on the whole much less aerodynamic and heavier. Example: The 300HP Mustang GT best reaches 146mph. Honda S2000 Nissan 350z! Mazda RX-eight and RX-7. Saturn Sky Redline Pontiac Solstice GXP Pontiac GTO Ford Mustang GT500 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Nissan Maxima New Honda Accord V6 and Nissan Altima V6 and Toyota Camry V6. Mitsubishi Lancer Evo or Eclipse GT Subaru Impreza WRX or Subaru Impreza WRX STI. VW R32 VW Passat V6....Show more

Chauncey Williama: despite what they guy above said higher octaine fuel dosnt give you power its for higher compresion ratioed cars burns more evenly..not gonna get much hp without money a cold air kit and exhaust will gice you a few hp tho

Dale Mccoun: Change or upgrade air manifold and filterChange exhaust manifold Better tires- more sporty typesSmall turbo, maybe run around 10-20lbs of boost( you'll need an intercooler with that though)Higher octane fuel- run 93+ may give you slight boostWeight reduction- extra seats, lighter body or frame( very expensive for a nes chasis or body though)That's it but other things are much more expensiveDon't forget, if y! ou wanna go faster you'll need better brakes so you might want! to replace or upgrade calibers and padsI'm not ver knowlegable on priced for these things, sorryHope I helped you out!...Show more

Wally Perrien: the first guy must be a ricer, because he clearly doesn't know anything about cars. 93+ gas will not give you any boost. It's meant for high performance cars with the engine to use 93+. It's hard to get performance out of a 4 cylinder car. There so much you can do before it blows on you. This is why people like you...who use 4 cylinder engines, tend to swap engine and spend tons of money rebuilding it and the transmission. Look at the big picture. Companys like Ford, Honda, Chevy, etc etc, when they build performance sports car, they build RWD v8/v10/v12 cars. Because that is how sports car are. Look at Lamborghini,Ferrari, mustang, camaro, all have RWD and a v8 or higher engine. That's because the engine is big enough to handle all that pressure. If this is a project, to make a 4 cylinder car as fast as a mustan! g, then congrats if you can do it but it's very costly and you will spend more money on the car than buying a new car with a v8 engine....Show more
