Rashad Marecki: Just clean it well before painting, and if you use cans of spray paint, be sure and test it on a hidden spot - some solvents used in spray paint can dissolve plastic coatings often used on furniture, and that can cause wrinkling or other undesireable effects. If you use a water-based latex paint, that should go on almost anything without a problem. About the only concern would be that you coat it without a lot of brush strokes or roller marks, and of course deciding if you want glossy, semi-gloss or flat. Damaris Weiler: YES you can paint it. Get some(1 quart)of water based KILZIT and have it tinted close to your paint color. Wipe down entertainment center with TSP(in paint dept.)Prime it with the kilzit...let dry and paint color of your choice! I use foam brushes for corners and a small foam roller to paint with. It might need 2 coats of paint ! so put your brush and roller in a ziplock bag and place in fridge til you are ready for second coat.
Carlton Lastrapes: Try primer on it first.then a couple coats of paint.You may want to apply polyurethane after it drys completely, if you want a shine.
