real estate agent/realtor?

Rhett Kaines: Most agents did not go to college to become realtors however some colleges have excellent departments dedicated to real estate, usually within their school of business. Check out this link. Good Luck!http://www.daniels.du.edu/burns-home.aspx

Derrick Cacioppo: No college is required. All you have to do is go to a real estate school which might be at your own pace then take the state test. Anybody can be a real estate agent. That is why I advise against using one.

Aubrey Tirri: Most states have courses they require for people interested in taking the test. In Indiana the course is (at least was) 54 hours of class time and then you get to pass a test given by the state. By passing the test and finding a broker to hold your license you become a real estate agent. You then must join the Metropolitan Board of Realtors to become a Realtor. Most of the time you are 100% commission so you can make as much or as little as you want or can sell. The ! broker you work for will generally charge you a fee to work in his/her office, the Board of Realtors has a monthly AND an annual fee, and the state requires you to take 6 to 12 hours of continuing education each year and you have license renewal fees for the state as well. I wish you good luck....Show more

Oscar Wieland: As soon as you pay for and pass the examination, you become a realtor!
